Start with the machine states people need to recognize, then confirm the light, sound, control and installation requirements.
Choose the number of layers from the machine or process states that need separate visual indication. Do not add layers that carry no useful information.
Use steady indication for persistent status and flashing indication when a condition needs stronger visual attention. Confirm the exact behavior supported by the model.
Choose a light-only signal tower for visual status, or a stack light with buzzer when nearby operators also need an audible cue.
Match the available AC/DC supply and confirm how the machine, PLC, switch or controller will activate each signal.
Confirm the available space, mounting method and protection rating for the installation area before ordering.
The terms overlap in industrial status indication. Stack light and signal tower commonly describe multi-segment visual indicators, while Andon often refers to their use for production or process status. Layer count, control, sound, voltage and mounting are more important than the name alone.
Choose the number of layers from the states people actually need to distinguish. A three-layer tower may be enough for three clear states; add layers only when additional states need their own visual indication.
Many industrial stack lights are controlled by external machine or controller signals, but wiring and control methods vary by model. Confirm voltage, wiring and interface requirements before connecting a tower to a PLC or controller.
Use light-only indication when visual status is enough. Choose a built-in buzzer when nearby operators also need an audible cue, then confirm whether the buzzer output is suitable for the ambient noise and warning distance.
A built-in buzzer is useful for local machine-status attention. In noisy factories, over longer distances or in outdoor warning applications, a separate industrial alarm siren can provide stronger audible warning.
Shop industrial signal tower and stack lights for machines, production lines and automated equipment. Compare 1–5 layer LED configurations, steady or flashing signal modes, and models with optional buzzer sound, multiple mounting styles and AC/DC voltage options. Selected models are also suitable for Andon status indication.
